When Esol Education first opened the American International School in Egypt (AIS) in 1990, it met with instant recognition and success. Within a few years the school was attracting the children and grandchildren of the leaders of Egyptian government, culture, and the private sector.
Today, after more than three decades of growth and progress, AIS has cemented its reputation as one of Egypt’s leading international schools, serving over 3,500 students on two campuses in New Cairo and Sheikh Zayed City. The school is now entering its next exciting phase with the announcement of a modern, state-of-the-art campus being built in partnership with Emaar, the Middle East’s leading property development company.
In August 2025, the American International School in Egypt’s Main Campus will relocate from New Cairo to a beautifully designed, purpose-built facility located in Emaar Misr’s breathtaking Uptown Cairo development. Built on a spacious 51,500 square-meter elevated site, the new AISE Uptown Cairo campus overlooks a natural valley and the upcoming Emaar Square development to the north. Its world class facilities have been designed to support modern teaching practices with technologically advanced classrooms and labs, encourage collaboration and real-world learning through spacious, interconnected learning zones, and enhance student wellbeing with direct connections to external green spaces.
The campus will also offer an outstanding athletic complex comprising an international size football pitch, running tracks, gymnasium facilities, two swimming pools and numerous outdoor multi-use court areas, a fully equipped performing arts venue and studios, and dedicated counseling centers.
At Esol Education, we always place our students’ development and wellbeing at the heart of every decision…the new AIS Egypt campus will be a culmination of our 47 years of experience in international education.
Play areas, open roof terraces, dedicated libraries and a café all enhance the school’s exceptional design, which incorporates an abundance of space, natural light, and stunning campus vistas to promote wellbeing and happiness for students and teachers alike.
“We couldn’t be happier about the new campus developments,” remarked Tammam Abushakra, Advisor to Chairman at Esol Education. “At Esol Education, we always place our students’ development and wellbeing at the heart of every decision. The new AIS Egypt campus will be a culmination of our 47 years of experience in international education. Our architects and campus design team has been working hard to ensure that our new campus surpasses the current one with more efficient design and upgraded learning, sports and performing arts facilities,” he added.
With fantastic new educational facilities for our New Cairo students, located in a fast-growing premium neighborhood by Emaar, Esol Education is looking forward to a bright future, continuing to serve families in Cairo with our holistic, world-class American and International Baccalaureate educational programs.
