AI in Education

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday life and part of the educational landscape. At Esol Education, our focus is on helping schools approach AI with care, clarity, and purpose.
We believe AI should support learning, strengthen teaching, and safeguard the wellbeing of students and staff. Our approach is guided by ethics, safety, transparency, and age-appropriate practice. Esol's framework for responsible AI adoption includes clear guidance, stakeholder engagement, phased implementation, ongoing review, and professional learning for teachers and students.
At the network level, Esol Education has established an AI Steering Committee, led by Dr. Joseph Nettikaden, Chief Information Officer at Esol Education, to develop shared protocols, responsible-use frameworks, and cross-school resources. This helps schools build a more consistent and well-governed approach to privacy, bias, academic integrity, and appropriate use.
AI in Practice
American School of Bahrain has earned the Middle States Association's Responsible AI in Learning endorsement, recognizing its whole-school approach to AI literacy, safety, and ethics. The school has integrated age-appropriate AI learning across grade levels while also providing training for teachers and keeping parents informed.
Esol Education has also partnered with MIT RAISE's Day of AI initiative to help equip teachers with practical knowledge and classroom strategies for responsible AI use. This gives educators access to structured professional learning, classroom resources, and guidance that can be applied across grade levels and subject areas.
AI also has practical value in the daily life of schools. Used thoughtfully, AI tools can help personalize learning, support differentiated instruction, and reduce time spent on routine administrative tasks, giving teachers more time for relationships, feedback, creativity, and student support.
Esol graduates who want to go further in technology have a clear pathway. The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) offers Bachelor of Science programs in Software Engineering and in Data Science and AI.
Parents are an important part of this conversation. Esol's guidance emphasizes transparency around how tools are used, what data is collected, and how families can stay informed. This reflects a wider belief that AI in education should be understood by the whole school community.
As AI continues to evolve, Esol Education is working to ensure its schools remain informed, responsible, and ready. Our approach is measured, grounded in professional learning, clear governance, and a strong commitment to the human side of education.
