In most parts of the world not so long ago parents had little choice in the selection of a school for their child. Typically, the new student would be required to register at the school nearest to their home. Private, independent and international schools existed but not to the extent that we see today. Currently, and particularly in Hong Kong, with significant growth in the education market and considerable choice available, parents must now confront many questions: What school should we select? What curriculum meets our child’s needs? Who has the best program, facility, staff?
At ASHK, we are committed to building a pre-eminent school. Further, we are committed to building a special place and know that in order to reach our goals we must inculcate by example the highest precepts of the dedicated educator: respect, understanding, inspiration, creativity, and knowledge.
We believe that children deserve the best start in life and the support that will enable them to reach their potential. In order for learning to be maximized it is critical that children are not only immersed in a secure and happy environment but in a stimulating and positive one as well. We recognize the body of evidence, which indicates that school climate is a critical factor for school success, and that school climate has been associated with higher academic achievement and healthy behavioral outcomes for students.
We are dedicated to hiring exemplary teachers with a proven track record. We will provide an engaging and challenging program of studies. Our focus is on the development of the whole child – from an academic, social, emotional and physical perspective. In an ever-changing global community, students need to acquire critical thinking skills in order to analyze and synthesize information, make informed decisions, solve problems and communicate effectively.
We anticipate that in a very short period of time we will become a school of choice amongst the many fine schools here in Hong Kong.
